Purpose:
Works with the VP of Operations & COO and other members of the management team to build and administer maintenance and operations.
Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Oversight of Service Department supervising, managing and leading the National Maintenance Manager, Corporate Maintenance Manager, National Service Associate(s) and National Service Manager.
- Ensures standards for fleet service quality, equipment readiness, and team performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is utilized.
- Ensures the maintenance records for fleet are accurate and up-to-date.
- Develops, monitors, and reports on operating costs within functional areas.
- Reviews ongoing performance results to targets and takes corrective measures with authorization.
- Review and approve vendor invoices for accuracy and pricing.
- Ensure / Verify that work billed for by vendors have actually been performed.
- Discrepancies MUST immediately be reported to the VP Operations.
- Continually seek to find and source new trailer repair vendors.
- Advises on issues including invoicing, client management and negotiates service and parts agreements.
- Inspect new and used equipment for purchase as needed.
- Site visits at vendor and customer locations as required.
- Participates in daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning process as appropriate.
- Controls maintenance expenses effectively.
- Prepares management reporting as required.
- Other related tasks as assigned.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- 5+ years of trailer fleet and service experience plus 2+ years management experience required.
- Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet.
- Excellent time management, organization and communications skills; oral, written and telephone.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks and manage a high volume of work.
- Ability to develop long term plans and strategies.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Well organized and self-directed.
- Frequent air and car travel
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Qualifications
Physical Demands Work Environment:
- Regularly requires standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, climbing, balance, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling or other mechanically related physical demands.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Frequent air and car travel
