Contract Leasing Corp. (CLC) first started rolling when Michael Goor founded it in 1991. The company’s initial growth was spurred when it signed its first significant long-term lease in 1992 with a highly regarded global packaging manufacturer.


Another milestone was reached in 1998 when CLC signed an agreement with an equipment Lessor to remarket several thousand turn-in trailers from one of the largest retailers in the world.


The year 2001 was one of innovation for CLC, highlighted by its design, construction and deployment of a lightweight trailer that enabled a major soft drink manufacturer to significantly increase its payloads.


The company effectively combined customized software and Internet technology in 2006, when it successfully negotiated a full service long-term lease contract with a global packaging company that included a web based portal to furnish electronic maintenance data on both CLC and client-owned vehicles.


The company successfully navigated the headwinds of the worst economic downturn in recent history and emerged stronger and more determined to remain an industry leader.  Evidence of this is CLC’s recent purchase of a new branch operation in Greenville, South Carolina and the purchase of several hundred new and used trailers to support current and future client needs.

In support of the company’s growth objectives, CLC has hired a number of senior level employees and undertaken a major marketing and rebranding effort.


In February of 2012 CLC hosted its first ever Customer Advisory Board which was held at the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island, Florida.  We brought in several of our top customers to learn more about what they want in a supplier, how they felt candidly about our current level of service and how CLC could expand upon our products and services to accommodate those requirements.   We found this to be a very helpful exercise and look forward to continuing this practice.
